벌써 필리핀에서 생활한지 5개월이 넘었습니다.
전에 비해 많이 향상되었고,
요즘에는 한국에 돌아가서 볼 스피킹 시험에 대비해
튜터와 간단한 질문이나 상황에 대해 묻고 답하는 연습을 하고 있습니다.
몇 가지 연습했던 걸 적어볼게요.
Q1) What kind of movies do you like to see? Do you like action movies? Do you like comedy or horror movies? What's your favorite type of movie?
A1) I like watching action movies, because they are thrilling and sometimes, I like the twists in their story line.
Q2) Describe one of you favorite restaurants where you often go to eat at. What type of food do they serve there? What do you like about that restaurant?
A2) Actually, I like chinese food, so I love going to chinese restaurants, especially, the one near my house. It's just a four-tabled restaurant and usually crowded, but it's clean and they serve really good food. That's why I like eating there.
Q3) Tell me how you spend time with your family or friends. Do you go to parks? Do you chat on the phone? What do you normally do to keep in touch and spend time with family and friends?
A3) Since I live far from my family and friends, I usually talk to my family over the phone if time permits, because we are all busy, while I often text my friends, but I make sure that every 3months, I go home and do a lot of catching up with my family by watching movies together, dining out, and just chat and talk about what we missed while we were apart, same goes with my friends.
Q4) Tell me about your favorite store to shop at. What is the name of the store and what kind of store is it? What do you like about that store?
A4) Actually, my favorite store is miles away from my house. It is called "mersh". It is butique. and I just order through their web-site, pay through credit card and have it delivered to my house. Although it's very far, I like shopping there, because they have unique design and usually sell limited edition clothes. At a very resonable price. Most of all, I think it's very convenient for me, because it's just one click away.
Q5) You have said in the survey that you play games with fellow adults. What is the game you enjoy playing the most? Why do you like playing this game and who do you normally play with?
A5) The game that I enjoy playing the most is called "3,6,9". I like playing this game with my friends and I enjoy it a lot. Because, it's very simple, easy, interesting and fun. Also the loser is punishied by drinking alcoholic drink. This game is a number and clapping game. You can have many players as you want. The players need to call out the numbers in sequedce one by one. Forexample, one, two, three, four... so on and so forth. However, the player, who is assigned to call out the number with 3,6,9 in it, is not allowed to call out the number, instead, he or she will clap. The number of claps will depend on how many numbers 3,6 and 9, the number contains. Forexample, the number 6 is one clap, because there's only one 6, the number 13, also one clap, because there's only one number 3 in it. While the numbers 36, 39, 63, 93 so on and so forth, need two claps, because there are two numbers 3, 6, 9 in them. And so on and so forth.
Q6) I'd like to give you a situation and ask you to act it out. Imagine that the mother of one of your son's friends calls to invite your son to a movie. Ask the mother three or four questions to find out more about her plans.
A6) Really? Where are you going exactly? What time are you going to pick up my son, and what time are you coming back? So that, I won't need to worry too much about my son. Please take good care of him.
Q7) I'm sorry. There is a problem which you need to resolve. The movie that your son plans to see starts at 9 p.m. which you think is too late. You need to explain your concern to the mother and offer two or three alternatives to her plan.
A7) Oh, I didn't expect that time. I'm sorry, but I think 9pm is too late for a kid to go out. If you want, you can come over at my house with your son to watch movie in DVD, or you can reschedule the date, tomorrow morning or any other day.
Q8) Describe one of your professors to me. What kind of person is he or she? What do you like or dislike about him or her?
A8) one of my professors is Mr.Kim. He is a very strict teacher. But he is very famous in Japan and Korea in his filed. He even owns a company in Japan. As a teacher, I like his enthusiasm in teaching. I also like his teaching skills, because they are easy to follow. However Mr.Kim is also an extremist and He always wants everything in perfection. Those are the two things that i don;t really like about him.
Q9) Tell me about the last classes you took. Why did you choose them? What did you do in those classes?
A9) The last classes that I took, were, when I was in summer semester. Those are environmental pollution and Chinese. Actually, my sister's major is related to the environment and I was curious about it. That's why I took environmental pollution. This subject focused on plastic usage and disposal, and its effect to people's health and the environment. on the other hand I chose Chinese, because I already I learned chinese in high school. and I thought, that I can get a high score in this subject. because I'm already familiar with it. Anyway, Through out the semester I learned to read, and write in Chinese.
Q10) Can you tell me what steps you have to take to get your destination on a trip? Tell me what you do from the moment you leave your house to the moment you check into your hotel your destination.
A10) Usually, When I go on vacation I prepare everything the day before and on the day of my scheduled trip I check everything before I leave. From the moment, I step out of my door, I usually take a public utility bus to the domestic bus station and then ride a domestic bus from there. The moment I get to my destiened place. I get a taxi going to the hotel and check in.
